I have been horse crazy since I was a toddler, and grew up riding my pony, Strawberry, through the coastal hills south of Half Moon Bay, CA.  I rode her in anything I could, from parades to local horse shows, you name it, Strawberry participated! My love of horses has evolved and for the last 15 years I've been riding competitively in dressage, and also a student of horsemanship principles taught to me by Susan Treabess, Ellen Eckstein and David Hillman.

i am susan's assistant trainer, and together we run Winterhaven Dressage & Horsemanship, located in davis, CA.  Winterhaven's home is the lovely winterhaven sport horse centere, owned and operated by Susan Treabess and her husband, scott stanley.  At Winterhaven, we pay attention to the details focusing on riders goals while maintaining healthy, happy horses. Although our passion is dressage, we are non-denominational and help a wide variety of riders and horses. We pride ourselves on combining the principles of classical dressage with horsemanship.  We can care for the most serious competitor or simply help riders improve their relationship and riding experience with their equine partners. We limit the number of horses we accept in training so that we can concentrate on individual programs that meet the individual needs of each horse.  And we like to have FUN with our horses and riders!

I hold a USDF Bronze Medal, and am half way to my Silver Medal.  Under the guidance of Dennis Callin, I have become very active in the FEI Young Horse program and that's where my passion lies.  I direct the young horse program at Winterhaven and act as the primary selector and rider of the young horses. In 2013, I rode my own young horse, Drake, in the Cal Bred Futurity and took home Reserve Champion.  In 2014 Drake qualified for the Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Championships, finishing 16th Nationally.  In 2015, I hope to compete Drake at Third Level, as well as the FEI 6 Year Old classes.

In addition to training horses at Winterhaven, my husband and I own and operate King Farm, an extension of Winterhaven Dressage.  King Farm is a small private boarding facility in Davis, CA, where I enjoy teaching riders of various levels, from just starting their dressage adventure, to refining aids for successful FEI level work.
